In Learn2Swim the fundamentals of the freestyle (FR) stroke and backstroke (BK) are the focus. Both strokes are deconstructed into rudimentary components and practiced in order that the athlete gains competency and confidence in execution. The skill of closed (flip) turns is also introduced provided athletes have progressed sufficiently.

Sessions are 45-60 mins long, with 30mins of coaching and 15-30mins of open swim so that skills can be practiced in a relaxed environment outside of a workout. Each session covers skills specific to each stroke, and the skills are practiced through a variety of drills. There is no ‘workout’ per se as the goal is to learn fundamentals, and fundamentals are learnt best at a relaxed pace, not while performing intervals or training sets.

This program runs for 7 weeks.  The cost for all 7 weeks is $185 (all in).

Link to the ‘Equipment‘ webpage for a list of recommended training tool(s) and the location of Team Aquatic (supplier to TOEST & jTOEST for all swim training supplies). At a minimum, fins for competitive swimming are recommended for Learn2Swim athletes (see image on right side).

Refund Policy: TOEST DOES NOT provide refunds. With programs focused on quality, on learning, on athlete’s making significant progress, hi athlete turnover rate would compromise coaching and the experience of all athletes. We ask that prior to registering that all commitments, calendars, etc… are reviewed to avoid joining when the risk is that the athlete will miss many sessions and/or the athlete will have to drop out. Once an athlete registers, they have a reserved spot in a lane for the entire duration of the program.
